Logo for the Canadian Archaeological Association / l'Association Canadienne d'Archéologie
A logo designed for the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Archaeological Association held in St.
John's, NL in May, 2007.  It was designed with the association's bilingual membership and the
Irish heritage of Newfoundland in mind.  The script, colours and white outlining were intended to
evoke traditional Irish designs.  The placement of the letters and the highlighting of the letter 'C'
were used to try to avoid giving visual prominence to either English or French initials.

The logo was used on programmes, books of abstracts, meeting schedules, T-shirts, baseball
caps and tote bags, as well as the meeting's web site (designed and constructed by Vince Walsh).
Cover design for first issue of the journal North Atlantic Archaeology (2008)
The scope of this new journal was pre-historic (i.e. pre-European expansion) archaeology in all
the regions adjacent to the North Atlantic Ocean, and it was intended to appeal to archaeologists
working both in North America and in Europe.  The elements of the cover design were selected to
reflect both the prehistoric focus, and the trans-oceanic scope of the journal's contents.

Copetown press also created the overall journal design, the graphics and the layout.

Cover design for a contract research report (2009)
The design for this report cover was intended to be simple and basic, without embellishment.  The
image element was selected and manipulated to convey a sense of the southern Labrador
landscape, and the presence on it of both living people and ancient heritage sites.  Accentuating the
stone cache with colour is consistent with the emphasis on archaeological heritage in the report.

Copetown press also did the print design, photography and layout for the report.
Cover design for second issue of the journal North Atlantic Archaeology (2010)
The image on this issue's cover is an abstraction of part of a figure in an article on Upper
Paleolithic Cave art

Copetown press also created the overall journal design, the graphics and the layout.

Logo for North Atlantic Archaeology (2011)
The logo was designed to go into an ad in another journal, so it had to be in black-and-white, and
capable of printing at a small size.  It was intended to be eye-catching, to showcase the initials of
the journal, and to reflect its trans-Atlantic focus.
